Michal Menert – Dreaming of a Bigger Life

Jul 30, 2010   //   by SeventhSwami   //   Blog, Uncategorized  //  No Comments

Larger than life, already…

Was scouring the Pretty Lights website (www.prettylightsmusic.com) last night, in awe over the pretty design (refresh the site a few times… LOVE the random backgrounds!), when i discovered this amazing body of work under the PL Label tab.

I don’t gush very often… (ok i gush all the fucking time) but this has to be heard to be believed. Extremely fresh and engaging, this album is hopefully a sign of things to come. The world needs more music as groundbreaking as this. There is endless inspiration to be found in here.

Yuri’s Night (this Saturday)

Apr 6, 2010   //   by SeventhSwami   //   Blog, Shows, Uncategorized  //  No Comments

yn2010_symflyer

Yuri’s Night is BACK! It’s the annual party at NASA AMES in honor of the anniversary of humanity’s first visit to space… Large scale art installations, science and technology demonstrations, historic aircraft and four stages of music await you. This year’s lineup is particularly epic, consisting of Les Claypool, N.E.R.D., The Black Keys, Common, DJ Q-Bert, Beats Antique, Vibesquad, The Glitch Mob, and many other modern aural miracles.

And I will also be out there from noon-midnight with the people from LoveTechSF, helping to demo electronic music performance and production techniques in one of the hangars… so if you have any interest in learning that stuff, we will have a “hippie genius bar” for your edification.
