Career Goals
I saw this Dr Seuss book at the store a few days ago… I didn’t know they still sold it… don’t know why it surprised me to see a dr seuss book still in print… those things will probably still be in print long after the stars burn out… But i had a copy of this one when i was a wee lad… i think i was 4 or 5 years old when i got bored one summer day and actually filled in all the blanks.
On the page about what i want to be when i grow up, there was a large list of careers that i could circle, and a space to fill in your own if not listed…
my two choices: Paleontologist and Garbage Truck Driver.
As you can see i failed at both.

that’s pretty funny, because when i was young i too wanted to be a garbage truck driver and a paleontologist.
on garbage day, i would put a ladder against the back fence so i could watch the garbage truck come by and pick up our trash. i thought that was the coolest job ever. when i was in college, my mom said one day she happened to be outside when the garbage truck came by and the garbage man asked about the little boy who used to watch him pick up trash. thought that was hilarious.

i love the “what did you want to be when you grew up” conversation
i’ve always been an artist, which is what i always wanted to be…
it’s just i’m not very good anymore…
honestly some of the stuff i did as a child and in high school freaks me out and i can’t believe i drew/painted/sculpted it…
only my photography remains…
time to work on my other goal… rich CEO of something

Hella artists,…
I wanted to be an artist for a living too… still have that creative spark. I also loved playing the detective/investigator role… so the medical field is a definite win. :c)
