Escape From My House

Well I just finished a week-long bout with the flu… i have never slept so much in my entire life…
Unfortunately i still have that lingering chest congestion that will likely haunt me for the next 3 weeks. =(
And sadly I had to cancel my own bbq… which was lame… I’m glad everyone else got to celebrate mike’s birthday instead and I hope y’all had fun.
In the mean time, all the clothes i own except for the ones i’m wearing are clean and on their hangers. I have saved a weeks worth of money. I have cleaned my room to the point of ridiculous. And my bed is all made. Oh and I think i quit smoking.
I always say… every time you get the flu is another chance to quit smoking… and this time it really worked out. I have lost all cravings and have no problem saying no to peer pressure right now. I’ve also developed a nice habit of drinking lots of water and taking lots of vitamins over the past week! Woohoo! Every dark cloud has a silver lining, as they say… let’s see if I can keep it up!

Fuck yeah! Congrats! I bet you can… It certainly helps with your partners support too. Will told me he wouldn’t kiss me if I had been smoking… and that was all the motivation I needed to stay away!

Fuck yeah bub. Glad to see you lookin’ at the positives. That’s something I always try to do, and try to remind my friends to try to do, too.
And don’t touch another cigarette. Seriously. When I was in the hospital for ten days, as soon as I got out I fired one up. Worst decision of my life. Well, one of ‘em.

Yes, yes, yes! No more cigarettes for Swami. That makes me proud. The flu helped me kick my two-cup a day coffee habit.

rocked your world?
i had a flu in college that floored me for a week at first, but full recovery only happened about 4 to 6 weeks later. i mean i was over all the symptoms at 3 weeks, but i wasn’t back up to a 100% energy level for about 5 weeks.
so my advice is…. good on the quitting smoking and drinking more water. but! be realllllyyyy easy on yourself for a few weeks though. don’t push it.

i agree. i actually have a reputation for pushing my luck too early and getting bronchitis because of it… not this time dammit!
this was also a great opportunity for me to quit coffee… but my stupid ass went to starbucks this morning intending to get an apple cider and i habitually ordered a grande black coffee and walked out the door before i realized what i had done.
