Flakey McFlakerton (please read)
I feel like a total bastard for doing this.. but I WILL NOT BE PLAYING AT DIRTY TOMORROW NIGHT.
I know i hyped it up for so long and I spent every free moment this month practicing this live set… The fact of the matter is, I had a phone interview with a kick-ass design firm in Mountain View and I have until monday morning to put together a presentation that will knock their socks off… So I have to cancel on the whole weekend. Career comes first and all that …. (and i really think this is the one)
so anyway yeah. You can slap the shit outta me next time you see me… probably at SF SantaCon if you can make it. And by that time, if everything goes right, I will be living and working a lot closer… and we can stagger back to my place and throw up in our santa bags.
Seacrest out.

Eh…fuck the future. Live in the now.
But if you get that new job in M.V. we can kick it ole school stylie down here in the burbs and shit.
I’d wish you good luck but you don’t need it. Your skill and talent shall win you the new job-a-rino.

mo: unfortunately, i don’t think this is one of those things that you can plan far enough ahead that it can be factored into the balance.

the potential employer doesn’t seem to be factoring in the balance either.
i’d personally be wary of a company who essentially asks you to quit your life last-minute so that you can ‘WOW’ them.
this sounds like a great opportunity otherwise so i’ll keep the rest of my knee-jerk red flagging to myself.
good luck steve, we’ll miss you at the show <3

Career first, fun later.
Fun will always be there.
Kickass opportunities, not so much.
Knock their socks off.

they actually didn't ask me to do this. If they did, i'd be wary too... but I'm doing this as a follow-up that will serve 3 purposes:
1. prove that i AM capable of fast-turnaround / high-quality.
2. show that i have experience making presentations.
3. give me a chance to showcase my motion-design stuff, which i haven't had a chance to do yet...
I firmly believe that this will be the difference between "maybe getting the job" and "DEFINATELY getting the job" This is the icing on the cake.

Don't you know? Raving ALWAYS comes before work.
Just remember the three rules: Pills before bills, spruce before goose except after moose, and... dammit I always forget the third one.

You know what? Good for you. Not that one thing is more important than the other - in fact, I suspect they're of very equal importance to you. But you didn't waste time obsessing and stressing, you got right down to it and made a decision. So way to go for picking a course of action and going for it. I'll be sending you TONS of good mental energy for this one. I hope it is the one!
