I feel like a total bastard for doing this.. but I WILL NOT BE PLAYING AT DIRTY TOMORROW NIGHT.

I know i hyped it up for so long and I spent every free moment this month practicing this live set… The fact of the matter is, I had a phone interview with a kick-ass design firm in Mountain View and I have until monday morning to put together a presentation that will knock their socks off… So I have to cancel on the whole weekend. Career comes first and all that …. (and i really think this is the one)

so anyway yeah. You can slap the shit outta me next time you see me… probably at SF SantaCon if you can make it. And by that time, if everything goes right, I will be living and working a lot closer… and we can stagger back to my place and throw up in our santa bags.

It’s been a long time since we’ve had Uberzone play at one of
our shows (Dec. ’05), and it’s been even longer since Uberzone
has released a full-length album (2001). And during the past
few years, there have been quite a few of us waiting very
impatiently for another album. 6 years later, Ideology has been
releaseed, and we are finally getting some new music out of Q,
and let me tell you, it was worth the wait!!!

Evil Breaks does it right once again with Uberzone playing LIVE
along with Davey Dave at what is San Francisco’s CD release
party for the long awaited new album from Uberzone. We’ll also
be giving away a few of the new cd’s as well as a bunch of
other freebies. Check back here later, or sign up our mailing
list to get all the info on that as we figure it out.

If that isn’t enough, we also have an amazing producer coming
out from the East Coast to do a little live set for us (you are
not ready for this), along with the Ambient Mafia in the back
room, Viberation doing visuals, and the E.B. dj’s owning the
main room like they tend to do at E.B. parties. I don’t know
about you, but it sounds like fun to me…….

experiment on 12-1

So things have changed again… Kevin Phillips (guitarist extraordinaire from my old band) came by last night and showed off his talk-box. www.zzounds.com/item–RTRBANSHEE

The result ended up being so good that we’re going to try this improv-ambient-jam-bandy-thing on the public at Dirty on 12-1… if everything goes well we’re planning on making it a dedicated side-project.

So just a heads-up… 12-1 is gonna fucking rule!

I’m probably going to regret saying this…

… just in case i fail miserably… but you know what they say… overpromise and underdeliver, right? no wait…. anyway….

On Dec 1st, at Dirty, (the Evil Breaks party) I will be playing an all-hardware ambient set in the chill room alongside fellow mafioso… That’s right, I’m leaving ableton and the laptop at home and I’m going to try to create some on-the-spot LSG-style ambience with 2 synthesizers, the kaoss pad, a noise box or two and a microphone.

I figured this would be the best time to try this idea out on the public, since ambient music kind of lends me more room for error with less visibility. (audibility?)…

So anyway i encourage you to come down and check out what may be the greatest accomplishment or the greatest trainwreck of my entire musical “career.”

in other news, my dad got a dog… he’s really excited to show her to me… sounds like exactly the dog the i tried to hook my mom up with, but my dad is a much better candidate to be a pet-owner. He needs company just as bad as my mom… and on that note, I’m going to take my cat to live with her for a while… Until Em and I get a place, that is. Rudy hasn’t been comfortable at the house in months… too many variables, indoors and out, that make him nervous… and my mother might just appreciate him being around. Sounds we’re playing musical pets.

 Allz i gotta say… is that if you try to say “The Ambient Mafia” with a mouth full of pancakes at 6 in the morning, it sounds a lot like “Yum Yum Mafia”
