Beetlejuice… NOT a Rave.

LOL… so last night i went to go meet a few friends about this party i’m helping out with on Halloween night.. i wiggled out of another work trip so that I could stay in town for this. All I knew before getting there was that it was on halloween and that it was at Country Club Lanes.

For those who don’t know already, CC Lanes is one of many bowling alleys across the country that converted into a “glow bowling” alley in an effort to stay afloat as people’s interest in bowling continued to dwindle. Not only that, they added an expensive “Laser Tag” maze to the place. And soon thereafter, the raves started happening.

To this day, most Sac-heads remember CC Lanes as THE candy rave venue back in the dizzle… up until 6 years ago at least when Johnny Law came through and stopped all that from happening.

So with that in mind, this party i’m helping out with is NOT a rave… no sirree… it’s just an all ages costume party with 21 DJs and 4 live acts… a haunted house built in the laser tag maze with zombie laser tag games and a 21+ area with a full bar, downtempo and dubstep.

Nope. NOT a rave.

oh and glow bowling.

I mean sure there’s a flyer, but it clearly says “Costume REQUIRED for entry… dressing as a Kandy Kid, or variation of, does not count as a costume.”

Not that anyone is expecting that sort of thing because this is NOT A RAVE. It’s just a 3 day haunted house experience with an all-ages party at the end.

So with that in mind, if you come down to Country Club next week on wednesday night you can kick it with me in the very non-rave-like bar area and get shitty while enjoying some good ass beats. And if you come on Monday or Tuesday from 8-11, I will be in the haunted maze, waiting to jump out at you from the shadows, dressed as some kind of creature or corpse… and i’ll take your wallet.

Yes creatures do that. You think they’re just out for blood and sex and ancient seals? Only on TV. REAL creatures of the night are just like you and me and they need to eat and make rent and buy porn on the internet just like you and me…

So yeah you’ve been warned.
