Last night I learned a TON about audio mastering… and just in the nick of time as it appears i’m getting close to completing my new album…. I’m estimating about 6 more months of work and fine-tuning to go…

A year or so ago my Alesis Micron got injured at a campout… some bloke was stumbling around where I had my gear stashed and he or she KICKED the main programming knob clean OFF. This really sucked because my other keyboard is good for generating organic sounds but the micron was my main source of dirty mcdirty analoggy shit…

Well I just got it back from getting repaired and between the micron and the shit i’ve been doing with my new buddha box and a microphone, I’m getting really stoked about my plans to play an all-hardware ambient set at the evil breaks party on 12/1.

Also I got a very special artist to agree to license his work for the new album cover too…

things are so good I could just shit.

Skydiving, Purgatory Cruising, and Experimenting

Saturday fucking ruled.

In celebration of Emily’s 27th birthday, I took her out to Lodi to jump out of a perfectly good plane with me… then lunch w/ her mom in Sac… then Lovefest… then the Experiment…

that was the plan at least… and i had mapped out an Orange Julius to hit on the way out to SF, but i totally forgot all about it.

This was to be my 2nd jump and Emily’s first… and just like last time I spent the rest of the day mulling over the idea of getting certified and buying my own chute.

Simply for the pimp-points… I mean how dope is it to own your own parachute? … to clutch it to your chest while on commercial flights.. knowing that if the plane went down, you had the ability to say “later bitches” and escape!

… or get sucked into the engine.

i mean what kind of “Escape Artist” would i be if I don’t have a parachute?

Just like the last time I jumped, my biggest problem was not fear (there is pretty much no fear once you reach a certain height… everything turns surreal)… my biggest problem was the pressure change… by the time i got back to the ground i felt like a vein was about to burst right between my eyes… Emily got a red eye too… i wonder if this is something skydivers get used to…

We made it to Lovefest by 4pm or 4:30ish…. hung out with a bunch of friends and then ended up on top of the purgatory cruiser with a bunch of tight homies and had the best view of Lovefest EVER… I wish i had taken pictures up there.

By the time we got to the Experiment we were both hurting pretty bad… i messed up the ball of my foot on landing and emily jammed her ankle… we hung out, had a few drinks, flyered and then bailed.

In+Out Burger… Blockbuster Video… Bed.

All in all…. best day i’ve had in a long time… since burning man at least….
